MBAM OneBuild 2026, held alongside OneWare, the fifth Malaysia International Hardware Technology Exhibition, took place from 5 to 7 August 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), marking its 12th edition.
Jointly organised with the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM), the event brought together industry professionals from the construction, infrastructure, hardware, machinery, engineering technology and smart urban development sectors.
“Platforms such as MBAM OneBuild and OneWare are invaluable to us precisely because they bring industry voices directly into the same room as policymakers, and I encourage MBAM to continue using this exhibition as a channel for constructive dialogue with the Ministry in the years ahead,” said YBhg. Dato’ Seri Azman bin Ibrahim, secretary-general of the Ministry of Works, who attended the event.
Themed ‘Smart Cities Building Tomorrow’, MBAM OneBuild 2026 highlighted the growing importance of digitalisation, sustainability, industrialisation and smart infrastructure in shaping the future of construction. The event covered six key areas: construction, infrastructure, construction machinery & equipment, smart city, digitalisation, and sustainable construction, providing industry professionals with access to a wide range of technologies, products and solutions
Digital construction
One of the key highlights was Digital Construction Day, organised in partnership with CIDB Digital Sdn Bhd. The programme saw the participation of 12 technology providers showcasing solutions in building information modelling (BIM), industrialised building systems (IBS), Internet of Things (IoT), smart cities, artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins, construction robotics, drones and virtual reality (VR).
The event also featured a range of on-floor activities and knowledge-sharing programmes throughout the three days. The ESG Conference, organised by MBAM, focused on sustainability strategies, governance frameworks, environmental responsibility and long-term resilience within the construction and infrastructure sectors.
The special forum ‘Machinery Decisions: Own or Rent – Prepare Before You Choose’, featured four speakers from major industry players who shared their perspectives on whether owning or renting construction machinery is the better option. The discussion looked at cost, utilisation, maintenance and project requirements, offering practical considerations for contractors and industry professionals when making machinery investment decisions.
BuildTalk, a three-day seminar series, brought together industry experts and professionals to share practical insights on current developments in construction. Across 16 sessions, the programme covered topics including smart cities and smart warehouses, digital transformation, BIM, AI, digital construction, construction materials, concrete quality, digital handover and construction machinery.
The IPAF Seminar also provided industry professionals with an opportunity to gain knowledge and exchange views on mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) safety and compliance.
Live demonstrations
Led by the ACI-Malaysia Chapter in collaboration with TAR UMT, the Concrete Clinic served as an avenue for visitors to seek practical advice and solutions on concrete-related issues.
Another new addition to this year’s event was the EVBuild Demonstration, which comprised 15 live demonstration sessions showcasing electric-powered equipment and smart mobility solutions. These included electric forklifts, intelligent EV logistics tricycles and electric-powered machinery mover skates.
MBAM OneBuild 2026 also hosted two days of business networking, attracting close to 500 contractors and suppliers from the construction and construction hardware sectors.
