Melbourne, Australia – Global architecture and urban design practice Denton Corker Marshall has announced the promotion of two long-standing members to the senior leadership team, as well as a new appointment to Senior Associate.

For the first time in over 10 years, a new Director, Sonja Syre, has been appointed to the Denton Corker Marshall Board. Joining the practice in 2008, Sonja is an exceptional leader and intelligent practitioner, who through her excellence in project delivery has become a critical member of the practices’ management team.

With over 20 years’ experience in research, education and civic architecture, Sonja has delivered some of Denton Corker Marshall’s most complex projects including the Faculty of Engineering and IT’s Broadway Building for the University of Technology Sydney, the award-winning Biomedical Learning and Teaching Building for Monash University, and the recently opened Shepparton Art Museum.

In a further appointment, Marcin Polgar has been promoted to Senior Associate after 15 years of delivering exemplary results as a member of the practices’ leadership team.

Marcin’s 20-plus years’ experience in architecture and design will see him continue to drive design outcomes for a broad range of typologies across the commercial, education, and civic sectors. Working in the Warsaw office in 2002, his international experience has assisted in the delivery of some of the practices’ most creative and dynamic designs on the world stage.

Denton Corker Marshall also welcomes the new appointment of Louise Goodman to Senior Associate. With 25 years’ experience specialising in public architecture and education projects, Louise will play an integral role in delivering Denton Corker Marshall’s projects in these key areas.

Together, these appointments will support the continuity of 50 years of Denton Corker Marshall’s design quality and culture, positioning the practice for an exciting and equally successful future.
