Bouygues Construction, through its Thai subsidiary Bouygues-Thai, has been appointed by developer Honour Thailand to design and build ‘Once Wongamat’. At 239-m tall, this 56-storey tower in Pattaya is poised to become one of Thailand’s tallest buildings when completed.

The Once Wongamat tower is located on Pattaya-Na Kluea Road in North Pattaya, with a total floor area of more than 60,000 sq m. Designed by Thai architectural firm D103i (Design 103 International), the building will consist of 548 luxury apartments featuring high-end finishes. It will prioritise living spaces and resident amenities, including five retail areas.

The foundation work began in February 2026 and was scheduled for completion in August 2026. Bouygues-Thai and Siam Tone Co were commissioned to carry out the work, which involves rock coring to lay the tower’s foundations.

Following this, work on the superstructure will begin and is expected to take around 30 months. According to Bouygues Construction, the low-carbon concrete structure presents technical challenges, one of which is constructing a cantilevered swimming pool that extends beyond the building. The construction of high-rise towers in seismic zones requires proven technical expertise, an area in which the contractor has a strong track record.

The project site also faces several logistical challenges, including a restriction on any activity after 6 pm and the complex task of managing traffic and material supplies in central Pattaya, added Bouygues Construction. The teams are using digital logistics tools to manage the site effectively: streamlining deliveries within operational windows and minimising congestion to keep the project on schedule. The contractor said up to 700 people will be working on site during peak periods.
