Aurecon appoints senior advisor to bolster Asia leadership team

Aurecon has appointed Peter C. S. Lee as its senior advisor for Asia, effective 2 May 2022. He will be based in Singapore and report directly to Stephane Asselin, chief executive for Asia.

Mr Lee has close to 40 years of international experience in the civil infrastructure sector. Prior to Aurecon, he led Changi Airport Planners and Engineers (CAPE) as its managing director for almost seven years. During his tenure at CAPE, he provided valuable strategic counsel and leadership that enabled CAPE to grow its international market share.

Before CAPE, Mr Lee was with AECOM for 33 years and during this time, he held several senior executive positions, including regional executive for Southeast Asia as well as chairman of AECOM Singapore.

In his new role, Mr Lee will work closely with the Asia leadership team to accelerate Aurecon’s growth. He will contribute to shaping the the company’s growth strategy and priorities, provide advice on value creation initiatives, leverage and grow market opportunities in the region, as well as strengthen existing client relationships and forge new ones. He will also help to build high-performing teams to serve Aurecon’s clients.

Mr Asselin stressed that Asia forms one of the key pillars of Aurecon’s growth strategy. “We are delighted to have Peter come on board as part of our leadership team. As a Professional Engineer (PE) registered with the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore, Mr Lee maintains an active involvement in both the commercial and the technical aspects of projects. He is also a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in Hong Kong and Singapore as well as a certified project manager of the Society of Project Managers in Singapore.

In his 33-year tenure at AECOM, Mr Lee worked on the first Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project and the first underground road, the Central Expressway (CTE) in Singapore. He was also the corporate director leading design packages for both Singapore’s MRT Downtown Line and Circle Line.

Other major infrastructure projects Mr Lee contributed to in Singapore included the Common Services Tunnel (CST) in Marina Bay, Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS), International Cruise Terminal at Marina South and the Container Port (F3) at Tuas.

In Asia, he assumed various roles in large-scale civil and infrastructure projects such as the Hong Kong MTR Island Line, Kuala Lumpur MRT Line Phase 1, Bangkok MRT Blue Line, Jakarta MRT Phase 1 as well as Hong Kong’s Kwai Chung Container Terminals.

In 2015, Mr Lee took on the role as managing director of CAPE, establishing its reputation to become a leading global airport consultancy. Notable projects that he provided counsel to in Southeast Asia include Manila International Airport in the Philippines, Jakarta International Airport in Indonesia and New Phnom Penh International Airport in Cambodia.
