Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – ARCHIDEX, Malaysia’s most established trade exhibition for the architecture, interior design and building industry, led the way forward for industry recovery with a grand opening at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, on 29 June 2022.
Exhibitors and members of Malaysia’s largest community of architects, interior designers, and building industry professionals, including welcoming foreign delegates, trade buyers, and industry specifiers, gathered to celebrate the 21st edition of this eagerly-awaited annual business event.
ARCHIDEX expects to see 37,000 visitors on both its onsite and online official platform, ARCHIDEX Online.
The physical exhibition is held from 29 June to 2 July. Once again, thousands of building industry professionals and trade visitors will reconvene face-to-face to recover the vibrant architecture and building industry after weathering through two unprecedented years of challenges.
ARCHIDEX will be a thriving marketplace featuring 400 exhibitors with numerous opportunities to facilitate business growth and transformation, including forums, talks, product launches, and business networking events. Held concurrently is the concurrent DATUM Conferences, which is specially curated for architects and building industry professionals, highlighting critical issues, trends, solutions, and opportunities that are aimed at inspiring participants and fostering the exchange of ideas.
ARCHIDEX an event of Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF) event. It is jointly organised by the Malaysian Institute of Architects or Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) and multiple award-winning trade and lifestyle exhibitions organiser C.I.S.

The Deputy Minister of Works added that he is confident to gain fresh perspectives and insights through the presentations on how we can continue to enhance the construction industry by utilising technology, Infratech and building efficiencies based on data so we can do more with less.
A new highlight at ARCHIDEX is Future City, a new future-focused concept on Sustainability, Infrastructure & Buildings, Society, Future Energy, Smart Mobility, and Smart Economy. This showcase will be a sourcing platform of choice for architects and designers seeking advanced materials and collaborations for their inspired designs aimed at meeting the buildings of tomorrow.
Another concurrent activity is The Forum @ PAM Pavilion, which will feature renowned speakers to share their experiences and thoughts on hot topics such as Air Taxis, NFTs, Metaverse, and Blockchains.

Earlier at the Opening Ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Works also presented the Future City Ideas Competition Award – where 37 submissions were received and six winners were announced to win the 1st prize: RM30,000; 2nd Prize: RM20,000; 3rd Prize: RM10,000 and three Honourary mentions at RM5,000 each. The Future City Ideas Competition is based on a real or imaginary site, the contestants must design a city of any size and shape for the future and were judged on their creativity and innovation, originality, contribution to sustainability, narrative and the use of artificial intelligence.
Together with ARCHIDEX Premier Partner: Taiwan Excellence – the symbol of the highest honour of Taiwan’s premium products – will be showcasing ten award-winning brands during ARCHIDEX 2022. This provides an opportunity for Malaysian businesses a closer look at Taiwan’s top brands and their ground-breaking advances that improve user quality and safety. In addition, the pavilion-themed “Modern Living Redefined” will feature brands encompassing innovative technologies, renovation materials, and home and commercial solutions.
ARCHIDEX will also feature Strategic Partners such as Milwaukee Tool Malaysia, Topmix Resources Sdn Bhd, Ideal Standard & Armitage Shanks, and X’traseal.
ARCHIDEX 2022 will be held from 29 June – 2 July at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. ARCHIDEX Online’s digital platform will be live until 29 July 2022. Registration is required for entry.
